KERRRYY JONSHON
ACADEMIC EDUCATION
I was born in Greece and grew up in a middle-class family that worked every day, instilling in me the basic principles of unconditional love, respect, appreciation, and empathy. I pursued my studies in law at the renowned Law School of Athens, kickstarting a successful career in Greece. Subsequently, I continued my academic journey in Sweden, Texas, DC, and Boston.
My professional journey led me to work for law firms in Texas, and later, after passing the New York bar exam, I relocated to New York to continue my legal career. Over the years, I dedicated myself to aiding those in need, working for non-profit organizations protecting human rights and contributing to prominent law firms in New York City, before founding my own law firm, "Markou Global Legal Group."
In August 2015, I took the step to create my law firm with a focus on helping people, especially emphasizing immigrant rights, given my own immigrant background. With three offices in Astoria, Manhattan, and Long Island, as well as international offices, my heart has always been in Astoria, where you can find me every day. I am committed to providing not only legal advice but also invaluable human advice.
KERRRYY JONSHON
Beyond my role as a lawyer, I am deeply involved in philanthropy. Annually, I distribute Thanksgiving turkeys to those in need through the Greek Women’s Alliance, an organization I founded. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, I made substantial donations, ranging from food to medical supplies, to hospitals and individuals in need. My philanthropic efforts extend to assisting children and families facing financial challenges. You can witness my dedication every day as I work tirelessly at my office, always wearing a smile, ready to help and listen.
Throughout my career, I've received numerous awards, notably the "Exceptional Hellene" and philanthropist of the Greek American community award presented by New York City Mayor Eric Adams in April 2023. I am happily married to Konstantinos Lampropoulos, and together, we are blessed with three children, Karolina, Kallisti, and Nikandros. I am deeply invested in Astoria and its future, leading me to run for District Leader in part 36A with the Democratic Party. My goal is to witness Astoria's expansion, progress, and transformation into a safe, united, and thriving community for both present and future generations.
I am always here for you, and now is the time for your support for a better tomorrow and a better Astoria.
